ANDREA FAZZARI
Photographer
Andrea Fazzari is a self taught travel, portrait, and lifestyle photographer. She travels the world extensively for editorial and advertising clients including Travel + Leisure, Gourmet, GQ and Vanity Fair. She was profiled as one of “PDN’s 30 Photographers to Watch” in 2004, and her website was named one of the year's ten best in PDN's Photo Annual 2006.
Andrea is passionate about creating photographs which capture the authentic beauty of people and places across continents. Her portraits not only reveal the quiet elegance observed in her subjects, but also a unique sense of place. She is fascinated by the richness and diversity of world cultures, particularly the significance of local food and cuisine and the role they play in defining a country's character. Andrea is drawn to the people who dedicate their lives to food, and to the sensuality, ceremony, preparation and sharing of the food itself. What does a dumpling maker reveal about Taipei? How is Argentinian beef intrinsically connected to the tango? Andrea has photographed home cooks, farmers and their families, celebrity chefs, and restauranteurs from New York to Russia to Tasmania.
Before becoming a photographer, Andrea worked in fashion and film public relations for such notable companies as Giorgio Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, and Miramax films. She speaks French and Italian and is currently based in New York. This fall she plans to expand her work base to include Hong Kong.
