MIKE KUNIAVSKY
Co-Founder ThingM Writer, researcher and designer
Mike Kuniavsky is a writer, researcher and designer exploring the intersections of high technology and everyday life. People around the world use Mike’s 2003 book, 'Observing the User Experience,' to understand the relationship between people and products. He is a cofounder of ThingM, a ubiquitous computing consulting company and was a founding partner of Adaptive Path, a San Francisco internet consultancy. He served as the interaction designer of the award-winning search engine HotBot and founded the Wired Digital User Experience Lab, one of the first in the industry, at Wired Magazine's online arm, HotWired. He was the art director on the team that developed the second ecommerce website, which sold hot sauce, in the Jurassic Age of the Internet, 1994. His next book, expected in 2007, will investigate user experience design for mobile and ubiquitous computing. He blogs at orangecone.com.
