RENé KOSTER

René Koster, director of the Dutch "Restaurant of the Future" project, talks about how we make food and drink choices.

René Koster is a director of the "Restaurant of the Future" research foundation

René Koster is a Dutch economist (1960) and is presently active in the field of sensory consumer science at Wageningen University and Research Centre.

René Koster has been one of the driving forces behind the realization of the Restaurant of the Future, a unique facility for research in the domain of food choice and eating and drinking behavior (www.rof.wur.nl).

At this public-private funded laboratory, that opened its doors in Wageningen, the Netherlands, on October 4th 2007, the measurement of the emotion of food is one of the key topics of research.

As a director of the foundation, René Koster is responsible for business development of the research centre.

Former positions held by René Koster include being head of department of the Wageningen Centre for Innovative Consumer Studies (1999-2007). Before that, he was a senior researcher at an economic research institute in The Hague, The Netherlands, in the domain of international development studies.
